This exquisite Kalachakra is crafted from solid, carved pieces of lapis lazuli set in a body sculpted from copper that is then gold-plated and adorned with insets of coral.
The deity is depicted with his consort Vishvamata symbolizing the union of wisdom and compassion, which is very important to attain enlightenment. Both Kalachakra and his consort stand atop two human figure on the sun disc lotus seat (inset with turquoise) that represents the triumph of good over evil. The deity is depicted with a wrathful appearance and is surrounded by a fiery halo which represents the transformative power of Kalachakra's teachings that is said to lead to the attainment of ultimate wisdom and enlightenment. He can be seen with multiple arms that each hold items symbolic of his divine powers and abilities.
